Divisional Director – Sustainable Design Leadership

About the role

We are seeking a Divisional Director to lead our New York office, championing sustainable, high‑performance design and driving growth in the U.S. market. You will combine business development, technical direction, and team mentorship to shape the future of environmental design.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leading work‑winning strategies to secure projects and clients.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships as a senior advisor.
• Serve as director‑in‑charge on projects, guiding technical direction, managing scope, fees, and ensuring top‑quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with other directors on office management, staffing, financial planning, and overall business strategy.
• Mentor, train, and develop staff, addressing skill gaps and implementing professional development plans.
• Supervise technical and non‑technical teams, aligning efforts with project and office goals.
• Represent the firm at industry events, publish thought‑leadership content, and elevate the company’s profile.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams in sustainable building services.
• Strong track record of winning new business and cultivating long‑term client partnerships.
• Deep knowledge of sustainable, high‑performance design principles and practices.
• Experience managing projects from concept through completion with financial accountability.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior talent and foster a collaborative culture.
