Distribution/Transmission Estimator & Project Manager

About the role

Wilson Construction Company is seeking an experienced Distribution/Transmission Estimator and Project Manager to join its El Dorado Hills office. The role combines technical estimating expertise with project leadership on large utility construction projects, ensuring proposals and executions meet all technical and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop accurate cost estimates for distribution and transmission utility projects.
• Lead project teams through planning, scheduling, coordination, and quality control.
• Manage inter‑departmental communication and serve as the primary liaison with owners and stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit proposals, track project progress, and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
• Travel to field sites as needed and support on‑site activities.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in office and field management or technical services for utility electrical construction.
• At least two years as a lead estimator and project manager on distribution or transmission projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and keen attention to detail.
• Willingness to work onsite and travel within the region.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using Microsoft Project.
• Familiarity with Primavera scheduling software.
