Distribution Center Manager (Overnight)

About the role

HD Supply is looking for a Manager, Distribution (Overnight) to lead the operation of a distribution center in support of company goals. The manager gives input and feedback on all operations processes and results to the DC Manager, and supports planning, budgeting, fleet management, compliance and inventory management. The role involves overnight travel about 5% to 20% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide departmental input to the DC Manager on operating plans for warehouse and transportation, covering facility, equipment and staff needs.
• Identify the financial resources needed for the operating plan, justify costs, and help develop department operating budgets.
• Recommend process improvements, implement action plans, and run routine analyses of functions, processes and asset utilization, sharing results with the DC Manager.
• Ensure associates comply with safety, Hazmat, legal and HR rules, and report safety and security issues to the DC Manager.
• Manage the performance of the Assistant Manager and/or hourly associates, recognizing, training, coaching, counseling and taking corrective action when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a distribution center, including 3+ years of management experience.
• Ability to analyze and investigate solutions and make decisions based on professional methods and business principles.
• Comfortable working in conditions with temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises and fumes, and able to lift or move heavy or awkward loads (50+ pounds).
