Dispatcher

About the role

The Dispatcher supports Kinder Morgan’s transportation operations, ensuring safe and efficient movement of truck shipments while complying with DOT regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform shift work, including holidays, weekends, and overtime, to maintain continuous dispatch coverage.
• Apply knowledge of DOT requirements for truck shipments.
• Communicate effectively via radio, telephone, and email with drivers, vendors, and coworkers.
• Monitor and respond to dispatch calls, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Maintain accurate records and follow detailed work schedules.
• Lift and move items up to 50 lb and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, and crawling as needed.
• Identify hazards by hearing and smelling for deficiencies.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and follow directions from supervisors.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Team‑oriented mindset and adherence to work rules.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Operation of a company‑provided mobile radio.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic numerical calculations in English.
