Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialist (DVOP)

About the role

The Technical College System of Georgia is seeking a dedicated Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist to join the Atlanta Career Center. In this full‑time position you will work directly with veterans and eligible individuals, providing personalized career services to help them achieve their employment goals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessment interviews, career guidance sessions, and develop individual employment plans.
• Provide labor market information, job search assistance, and demonstrate job listings to explore training and employment opportunities.
• Design, coordinate, and facilitate workshops on job readiness and modern job‑search techniques.
• Identify barriers to employment, refer clients to supportive services, and assist in removing obstacles.
• Perform job counseling using various assessment tools to match skills, interests, and values with career opportunities.
• Conduct outreach with veteran organizations, community groups, and educational institutions, including travel to remote locations.
• Collaborate with federal, state, and local programs and employers to develop entry‑level jobs, training, apprenticeships, and vocational counseling for veterans.

Required profile

• Qualified, eligible veteran.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
