Director, Technology Communications

About the role

LinkedIn is looking for an experienced communications leader to serve as Director of Technology Communications. The role will set and lead the global communications strategy for LinkedIn’s technology portfolio, including AI, innovation and infrastructure, and will partner closely with engineering leadership to translate complex milestones into compelling external narratives.

Key responsibilities

• Define the strategy and priorities for technical storytelling rooted in engineering, AI, and product innovation, aligning long‑term narratives with timely trend opportunities.
• Lead and manage the Technology Communications team, overseeing goal‑setting, performance feedback and professional development.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with industry influencers, trade media, tech creators and substacks.
• Oversee content on external channels such as the Engineering blog and LinkedIn Showcase page.
• Ensure rigor, consistency and alignment of engineering blog submissions and tech milestone publications.

Required profile

• Strong technical acumen with the ability to translate complex technology into clear external narratives.
• Proven experience leading communications for technology organizations at a senior level.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, product, global communications, marketing, legal and finance teams.
• Sharp judgment, high standards for rigor and the capability to engage media, creators, customers, policymakers and business leaders.
