Director, Strategy Engagement Lead

About the role

This position is based in East Hanover, NJ and cannot be done remotely; only local candidates will be considered, and no relocation is provided. Reporting to the ED, US Business Strategy Lead, the Director leads day-to-day strategy engagements within US Business Strategy, turning the pillar lead's agenda into structured projects, aligned stakeholders, decision-ready recommendations and execution handoffs. The role covers US commercial enterprise strategy, functional strategy alignment, annual and quarterly planning, market and competitive synthesis, and US long-term decision options, with up to 20% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of strategic framing, issue trees, hypotheses, opportunity sizing and US commercial enterprise strategy narratives.
• Coordinate functional strategy inputs and check that functional plans align with US commercial priorities.
• Synthesize market, customer, competitor, policy, portfolio, financial and operating model inputs into clear strategic choices.
• Prepare US long-term recommendations, strategic options and trade-off narratives.
• Coach AD and Manager resources so that analyses, narratives and stakeholder processes meet executive quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree (MS and/or MBA) preferred.
• 8+ years of consulting, corporate strategy, commercial strategy, strategic operations, transformation or relevant pharma/healthcare experience.
• Able to lead 1-2 complex strategy engagements at once with senior stakeholders and ambiguous scope.
• Strong hypothesis-driven problem solving, facilitation, storylining, analytical synthesis and influence without authority.
• Desirable: top-tier consulting, corporate strategy, commercial strategy, project leadership or transformation experience, and experience turning recommendations into roadmaps, owners, KPIs and governance handoffs.

What we offer

• Expected salary of $185,500 to $344,500 per year, depending on skills and experience.
