Director, Simulation and Evaluation - Autonomous Driving

About the role

The Director of Simulation and Evaluation will lead Bosch's global AI Backbone for autonomous driving. You will design and manage a multi‑level simulation ecosystem that trains, evaluates, and validates next‑generation foundation models before they reach the road.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the roadmap for high‑throughput, closed‑loop simulation and foundation‑model strategy.
• Research and propose new methodologies to assess quality, safety, and realism of ML models for L2++ and L4 automated‑driving stacks.
• Architect evaluation frameworks and build tools that enable rapid iteration and measurable performance gains.
• Lead the development of generative world models and data pipelines for signal discovery, labeling, and metric computation.
• Establish the gold‑standard evaluation criteria that guide Start‑of‑Production and model release decisions.
• Provide global technical leadership, mentoring a cross‑functional team of software engineers, data scientists, and ML experts.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in AI‑driven simulation or autonomous‑driving domains.
• Strong track record of delivering large‑scale simulation platforms and evaluation infrastructures.
• Ability to translate complex simulation data into strategic documentation for executive decision‑making.
• Excellent communication skills to influence global stakeholders.
