Director, Process Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Director, Process Engineer to lead a process technology group that drives research, development and implementation of new semiconductor manufacturing products. The role oversees complex scientific applications, guides product releases and collaborates with customers on high‑value process challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Direct a process technology group responsible for research, development and implementation of new products and enhancements to existing lines.
• Manage complex applications of scientific theory in product development and technical management.
• Lead alpha engineering programs and oversee alpha and beta product releases for the business unit.
• Provide solutions for external customers facing unusually complex process issues and high‑value problems.
• Participate in strategic planning to align R&D processes with overall business objectives.

Required profile

• Broad understanding of systems, theories and practices across process technology.
• Ability to apply industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance.
• Leadership experience managing managers and executing segment/functional business plans.
• Strong analytical judgment to resolve highly complex business problems.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills at senior executive level.
