Director of Talent (Construction)

About the role

The Director of Talent will lead the talent strategy for a major construction firm serving the Mid-Atlantic region. Reporting to senior leadership, this role shapes how the organization attracts, develops, retains, and advances its workforce of roughly 3,000 employees.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall talent strategy for approximately 3,000 employees across the Mid-Atlantic region.
• Design and implement career architecture that creates clear growth pathways throughout the organization.
• Develop talent optimization strategies that align workforce capabilities with long‑term business objectives.
• Partner with executive leadership to strengthen succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
• Create programs that identify, assess, and develop high‑potential employees.
• Build scalable performance management and talent review processes.
• Collaborate with operations leaders to align workforce planning with business growth.
• Utilize workforce analytics and talent data to support strategic decision‑making.
• Enhance employee engagement, retention, and internal mobility initiatives.
• Champion a culture focused on leadership development, continuous learning, and organizational effectiveness.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on talent strategy and organizational design.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive experience in talent management, HR strategy, or related fields.
• Proven ability to design and execute large‑scale talent initiatives in a complex, multi‑site environment.
• Strong partnership skills with executive and operational leaders.
• Experience building succession pipelines and leadership development programs.
• Excellent analytical mindset with experience using workforce data to drive decisions.
