About the role

The Santa Ana Unified School District is seeking a Director of Special Education to lead the Special Education Department for the 2026-2027 school year. This senior leadership position is responsible for guiding the district’s special education programs and ensuring high‑quality services for students.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the Special Education Department and its staff.
Ensure compliance with California special education regulations and district policies.
Collaborate with district administrators to support student achievement.

Required profile

Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least five years of relevant experience, including three years in Special Education and two years in an administrative role.
Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential or Teaching Credential.
Valid California Administrative Services Credential (detailed credential required).
Current California driver’s license (verification only, not attached).

Required skills

Biliterate in English and Spanish (desirable).
