Director of Procurement & Supply Chain

About the role

CLS Health, a physician‑led healthcare system in Houston, is looking for a strategic leader to head its centralized procurement and supply chain function. The Director will shape sourcing strategies, manage vendor relationships, and ensure that purchasing activities support high‑quality patient care while driving cost efficiencies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a unified procurement strategy across all CLS Health locations.
• Lead vendor sourcing, selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
• Create and maintain standardized purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality, service, or compliance.
• Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to standardize products, supplies, and purchasing practices.
• Coordinate inventory management initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
• Present major purchasing recommendations and long‑term contracts for executive review.
• Monitor procurement metrics, prepare spending and performance reports, and lead a high‑performing procurement team.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
• 8‑10 years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience within a large medical group, hospital, health system, ambulatory network, pharmacy, or laboratory is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success purchasing medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic equipment, or related technologies.
