Director of Procurement

About the role

The Director of Procurement will lead strategic sourcing, vendor management, and procurement operations for Violet Foods’ diverse portfolio of raw materials, packaging, finished goods, and external manufacturing partners. This senior position combines strategic leadership with hands‑on execution to support growth, improve margins, and ensure supply continuity across a fast‑moving CPG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with growth, scalability, quality, and margin goals.
• Lead sourcing and procurement activities for raw materials, packaging, ingredients, finished goods, and co‑manufacturing partners.
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate, onboard, and manage supplier and co‑manufacturing relationships.
• Drive vendor negotiations covering pricing, lead times, payment terms, service levels, capacity commitments, and risk mitigation.
• Build and implement scalable procurement processes, controls, and supplier management practices.
• Partner with Planning, Operations, and Finance to align sourcing with production, inventory, and demand forecasts.
• Oversee purchase order execution, supplier scheduling, and material availability to ensure uninterrupted production.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading strategic sourcing and procurement in a multi‑brand CPG or food manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with planning, operations, and finance teams.
• Track record of developing scalable procurement processes and driving cost‑competitiveness.
