Director of Process Engineering

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a senior leader to direct process engineering activities for its semiconductor product line. The role combines deep scientific expertise with strategic oversight to drive innovative solutions that support AI‑enabled chip manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Leads practical applications of scientific theory and complex processes for the product line.
• Drives research, development and implementation of new products and enhancements.
• Interacts with key customers to resolve high‑value process engineering issues.
• Manages alpha and beta product releases and oversees the alpha engineering program.
• Participates in strategic planning and integrates R&D with business objectives.

• Recognized as a guru or external expert in process technology.
• Demonstrates broad expertise in leading‑edge theories, techniques and technologies.
• Influences internal and external business or regulatory issues.
• Leads multidisciplinary project teams and provides thought leadership.
• Proactively identifies and solves the most complex problems using groundbreaking methods.
