Director of Planning (Houston, TX)

About the role

Verdant Specialty Solutions is seeking a Director of Planning to own and drive the company’s enterprise planning, profitability forecasting, and strategic decision‑making processes. Based onsite in Houston, this senior leader will work directly with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team to shape the financial outlook and improve business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise planning process, including monthly forecasting, the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and long‑range strategic planning.
• Own the consolidated profitability forecast across the full P&L, covering revenue, pricing, cost assumptions, contribution margin, EBITDA, working capital, risks and opportunities.
• Partner with Finance, Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Product Management and Controlling to translate business assumptions into financial forecasts and executive decision support.
• Facilitate CEO‑led business performance reviews, forecast meetings, KPI governance and executive action tracking.
• Prepare executive‑level presentations and reports for the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors and parent company.
• Analyze financial and operational performance to identify profitability drivers, emerging trends, risks and opportunities, and recommend practical solutions.
• Support strategic initiatives, capital investments, partnerships, toll‑manufacturing opportunities and business development through financial analysis and business case development.
• Continuously improve planning processes, forecasting methodologies, executive reporting and performance metrics, maintaining a single source of truth for financial forecasts.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading enterprise planning and profitability management at a senior level.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret financial and operational data and translate insights into strategic recommendations.
• Demonstrated success partnering with cross‑functional teams including Finance, Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain and Product Management.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex financial information to senior executives and board members.
