Director of Operations, Anthony Timberland Center

About the role

The Anthony Timberlands Director of Operations manages daily operations and business planning for the newly built, state‑of‑the‑art Anthony Timberlands research and teaching facility. This in‑person leadership position works closely with the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design faculty and administration to advance the university’s research and teaching agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily facility operations, ensuring high efficiency and strict regulatory compliance.
• Control financial budgets and supervise staff to support faculty research and grant activities.
• Develop and implement long‑term strategic plans for the research and teaching center.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science, engineering, or design discipline.
• At least five years of professional lab experience and two years in a leadership role.
• Experience with contemporary fabrication technologies such as CNC routing, CNC milling, 3D printing, and robotics.

Required skills

• CNC router, CNC lathe, CNC mill operation.
• 3D printing and robotics end‑effector design.
• Software for digital fabrication (CAM, 3D modeling, Arduino).
• Traditional fabrication techniques (woodworking, metalworking).
