Director of Engineering Project Control

About the role

The Director of Engineering – Project Control leads Global Engineering Solutions in delivering cost and schedule excellence for large strategic pharmaceutical programs. This senior leader drives innovative project‑control practices, monitors early‑warning indicators, and partners with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful execution.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and implement project‑control procedures, monthly cost reports, earned‑value analysis, and risk management across the portfolio.
• Collaborate with AE, CM, and internal SMEs to transition from planning to execution, ensuring compliance with GES reporting requirements.
• Lead change management, Lean/Target Value Delivery initiatives, and continuous‑improvement efforts.
• Manage staffing for project‑control functions, oversee change and risk processes, and ensure timely project closures and asset definition.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline.
• 15+ years of project‑control or delivery experience in the pharmaceutical industry, covering FEL to start‑up and licensure.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and ability to travel up to 25% across the Americas.

Required skills

• SAP (or similar) financial management systems.
• Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis, MS Project scheduling tools.
• Lean Six Sigma and Target Value Delivery methodologies.
• Microsoft Power Applications and AI awareness.
