Director of Engineering

About the role

Springbrook Software is looking for a hands‑on Director of Engineering to lead its engineering organization. This player‑coach will set technical strategy, mentor managers and senior engineers, and still write production code on critical initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Directly manage engineering managers and senior engineers while influencing technical staff across teams.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop talent, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Partner with product, sales, and customer‑facing teams; represent engineering in customer interactions.
• Define and evolve the technical roadmap, architecture standards, and engineering best practices.
• Drive service‑oriented architecture design and migration from .NET Framework to modern .NET.
• Champion security‑first and AI‑first engineering practices, integrating AI tooling and agentic workflows.
• Enforce clean‑code principles, rigorous code reviews, and high testing standards.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience managing engineering managers and senior engineers.
• Strong communication skills with executives, engineers, and customers.
• Hands‑on full‑stack development background, comfortable writing production code.
• Passion for security‑first and AI‑first engineering cultures.
