About the role

Our client, a leading Southeast electrical contracting firm, is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering (PE) to lead the engineering department from its Orlando headquarters. This senior position will shape technical standards, mentor staff, and drive innovative, code‑compliant electrical designs for complex commercial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Electrical Engineering department.
• Lead design and engineering of complex building electrical systems across multiple market sectors.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, quality‑assurance procedures, and best practices.
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineering staff, fostering technical excellence.
• Collaborate with estimating, pre‑construction, project management, and field teams throughout project execution.
• Review calculations, specifications, construction documents, and design packages.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Support value‑engineering initiatives and innovative design solutions.
• Serve as engineering lead for major client relationships and technically challenging projects.

Required profile

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Electrical Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience designing electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, entertainment, high‑rise, and large‑scale facilities.
• Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.
