Director of Construction & Capital Projects

About the role

Clear Investment Group is seeking a seasoned Director of Construction & Capital Projects to lead renovation, redevelopment, and capital improvement initiatives across its distressed multifamily portfolio. Based in the Chicago Loop, you will combine strategic oversight with hands‑on project management to drive asset value and community revitalization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all construction and capital project initiatives from due diligence through stabilization, aligning with asset management and investment strategies.
• Set vision, objectives, and KPIs for the Construction & Capital Projects department and ensure consistent execution.
• Mentor and manage a team of Construction Project Managers and Project Management Associates, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Develop and manage annual CapEx budgets, track costs, and report financial performance.
• Implement value‑engineering strategies to maximize ROI while maintaining quality.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, pipeline evaluation, and portfolio forecasting.
• Establish company‑wide standards for construction execution, quality control, and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Extensive experience overseeing large‑scale construction and capital projects in multifamily or real‑estate environments.
• Proven leadership and team‑building abilities.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing CapEx budgets and cost‑control initiatives.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial setting and travel 40‑60% as needed.
