Director of Compliance

About the role

The Director of Compliance will lead and enhance Greystar’s compliance program for its SEC‑registered investment adviser and FINRA‑registered broker‑dealer activities. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, this senior position works closely with Legal, Investor Relations, Accounting, Investments, and Portfolio Management to ensure all advisory, marketing, and record‑keeping practices meet regulatory standards across real‑estate, credit, and infrastructure fund platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and continuously improve written compliance policies and procedures in line with Rule 206(4)-7 of the Advisers Act.
• Monitor SEC, FINRA, and other regulator developments and assess their impact on the firm’s advisory and broker‑dealer programs.
• Draft compliance memoranda documenting regulatory analysis, interpretive positions, and rationales.
• Identify and implement automation or streamlining opportunities for compliance workstreams.
• Review and approve marketing materials, including performance presentations, track records, and case studies.
• Support the annual compliance review process, including testing under Rule 206(4)-7.
• Prepare, review, and file Form ADV, Form PF, Form D, and other required regulatory filings.
• Administer personal trading, gifts, political contributions, and outside business activity policies, including pre‑clearance.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory examinations and assist in delivering firm‑wide compliance training.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of SEC and FINRA regulations, particularly Rule 206(4)-7, Form ADV, Form PF, and Form D requirements.
• Experience drafting compliance policies, memoranda, and regulatory filings.
• Proven ability to monitor regulatory changes and translate them into actionable compliance measures.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams such as Legal, Accounting, and Investment Management.
