About the role
The Director of Case Law AI-Driven Content will shape and lead the editorial and subject‑matter expert teams that deliver AI‑enabled case law content. Reporting to the Global Head of Cases and Chief of Staff for Global Editorial Operations, this role partners with product, technology, data science and editorial stakeholders to ensure AI‑generated content is accurate, trusted and ready for production.
Key responsibilities
- Lead teams executing the strategy for AI‑generated and AI‑enhanced case law content, aligned with product priorities and customer needs.
- Develop and maintain roadmaps for AI case law initiatives from proof‑of‑concept through production deployment.
- Identify and prioritize AI opportunities across the case law lifecycle, including collection, conversion, enrichment, summarization, classification, linking and update workflows.
- Partner with Product and Technology teams to ensure AI content capabilities support Lexis+ AI and related research experiences.
- Provide direction and oversight for AI‑driven case law initiatives across assigned jurisdictions and content streams.
- Ensure AI‑generated content meets LexisNexis standards for legal accuracy, editorial quality, consistency and trust.
- Define and apply governance frameworks for AI content, including human‑in‑the‑loop review, version control, auditability and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with the Director of Performance and Operations to transition mature AI solutions into business‑as‑usual workflows.
- Engage senior leaders regularly to confirm strategic alignment, surface risks and celebrate wins.
- Promote responsible AI adoption, experimentation and continuous improvement within editorial workflows.
- Act as the primary editorial point of contact for AI‑related case law initiatives with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science and UX teams.
- Translate editorial and legal requirements into clear AI content specifications, evaluation criteria and success measures.
- Define and track success metrics for AI‑driven case law content, including quality, coverage, freshness and scalability.
Required profile
- Proven leadership experience managing editorial and subject‑matter expert teams.
- Strong collaboration skills with product, technology, data science and editorial stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of legal accuracy, editorial quality standards and trust requirements for case law content.
- Experience designing governance frameworks for AI content, including human‑in‑the‑loop review and risk mitigation.
- Ability to communicate strategic vision to senior leadership and drive adoption of AI initiatives.
- Track record of translating legal and editorial needs into technical specifications and measurable success criteria.
