Director of Career Strategies (Law School)

About the role

The Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University seeks a senior professional to lead its Career Strategies Office. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Career Strategies, the Director will shape career‑development programming, advise students and alumni, and build relationships with legal employers, especially in the public sector.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized career counseling, resume/cover‑letter review, interview preparation, and networking guidance to students and alumni.
• Develop and maintain a network of legal employers across the Philadelphia region, national and international markets, and public‑sector organizations.
• Design, organize, and deliver workshops, panels, and events that enhance understanding of legal career paths and professional identity.
• Manage on‑campus and off‑campus recruiting programs, job fairs, and networking events.
• Collect, analyze, and report employment data for ABA and NALP compliance.
• Represent the Career Strategies Office on internal and external committees and professional associations.

Required profile

• Significant experience in legal career services, counseling, or related professional development roles.
• Strong knowledge of legal employment trends, particularly in the public sector.
• Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with employers, alumni, faculty, and staff.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a regular on‑campus presence (minimum four days per week).
