Director of Candidate Training Programs

About the role

The LGBTQ+ Victory Institute is seeking a visionary leader to head its Candidate Training Programs. Reporting to the Vice President of U.S. Programs, you will shape and deliver training that equips LGBTQ+ individuals to run for public office and excel as elected officials.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic vision for annual Candidate & Campaign Trainings, ranging from one‑hour virtual sessions to four‑day bootcamps.
• Oversee participant recruitment, trainer coordination, curriculum development, and event logistics.
• Ensure training cohorts reflect the full diversity of the LGBTQ+ community.
• Design, refine, and expand leadership curricula for candidates, campaign staff, and elected officials.
• Collect and analyze participant data to improve program impact and track key performance indicators.
• Manage auxiliary programs such as the Victory Empowerment Fellowship, Trans Training Extension, and LGBTQ+ Women Training Extension.
• Build partnerships with external organizations to broaden reach and amplify impact.
• Collaborate with communications and development teams to raise visibility for the Institute’s training portfolio.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale training or leadership development initiatives.
• Strong strategic planning and program‑management skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to LGBTQ+ equity and inclusion.
• Excellent public‑facing and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and drive results in a fast‑moving nonprofit environment.
