Director of AV Support

About the role

The Director of AV Support leads the University Information Services team responsible for audio‑visual technology across Georgetown University’s Hilltop and Capitol campuses. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Classroom & Shared Space Support, this senior role ensures that classrooms, conference rooms and event spaces are equipped with reliable, state‑of‑the‑art AV solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of AV engineers and technicians.
• Develop and execute a strategic plan for AV services that aligns with academic and administrative goals.
• Oversee design, installation, and ongoing maintenance of AV systems in over 500 classrooms, conference rooms and event venues.
• Manage the AV department budget and allocate resources effectively.
• Provide high‑level service and support for all AV‑equipped spaces.
• Collaborate with university stakeholders and Facilities Project Management on construction and renovation projects to meet AV requirements.
• Monitor emerging AV technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in audio‑visual technology, including design, implementation and support.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Strong understanding of AV infrastructure in higher‑education environments.
