Director, Logistics

About the role

The Director of Logistics will lead the strategic and operational oversight of packaged‑goods transportation across the United States, Canada, and cross‑border lanes. Based in Rosemont, this senior position partners with multiple functions to drive cost‑effective, reliable freight solutions while maintaining excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a North American transportation strategy that balances cost, service, and capacity.
• Drive freight cost reductions through carrier negotiations, network optimization, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Establish and manage transportation budgets, forecasts, and savings targets.
• Provide leadership to U.S. and Canadian transportation teams, overseeing daily performance, service levels, and exception management.
• Own transportation KPIs sourced from the OTM Transportation Management System and deliver data‑driven recommendations to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Sales, and Finance on sourcing strategies, plant‑to‑customer flows, and network design.
• Lead carrier sourcing, contracting, and performance management, maintaining strong relationships with carriers, brokers, and logistics service providers.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading logistics operations across the United States and Canada.
• Strong understanding of U.S., Canadian, and cross‑border transportation regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage transportation budgets and achieve cost‑saving targets.
• Excellent analytical skills with a track record of using performance data to drive improvements.
• Effective cross‑functional collaborator capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
