Director, Internal Audit and Risk Management

About the role

PacifiCorp is seeking a seasoned leader to head its internal audit function. As Director, you will shape a forward‑looking, risk‑based audit strategy, partner with senior leadership, and interface regularly with the Berkshire Hathaway Audit Committee to strengthen governance and transparency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the internal audit department, establishing standards, policies, and performance metrics.
• Conduct annual risk and fraud assessments and develop a dynamic audit plan aligned with corporate and regulatory priorities.
• Coordinate SOX testing, evaluate internal controls over financial reporting, and collaborate with external auditors.
• Partner with business and IT teams to identify risks, drive process improvements, and monitor remediation plans.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Mentor, develop, and inspire the audit team while fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• CPA, CIA, or equivalent certification is required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in audit, risk management or compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and risk‑assessment frameworks, especially for electric utility companies.
