Director, Individual Giving

About the role

The Director of Individual Giving leads Ipas' individual giving program, shaping strategy and managing a high‑performing team while personally cultivating major and principal donors. This senior position works closely with executive leadership, communications, finance, and global program staff to deepen donor engagement and grow unrestricted philanthropic revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the individual giving strategy, expanding relationships with major and principal donors.
• Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of transformational donors and prospects.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing Individual Giving team.
• Collaborate with Development, Communications, Finance, and program leaders to strengthen donor engagement.
• Use fundraising analytics, portfolio management, and strategic planning to drive long‑term success.

Required profile

• Proven success securing six‑ and seven‑figure gifts.
• Experience leading an individual, major‑gifts, or principal‑gifts fundraising program.
• Strong leadership and team‑development abilities.
• Excellent relationship‑building, communication, and strategic planning skills.
• Passion for reproductive rights, gender equity, or related social‑justice causes.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
