Director, HR Technology

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a senior leader to drive its HR technology strategy. Reporting to senior HR leadership, the Director, HR Technology will oversee the design, implementation, and operation of HR systems that support the university’s mission and operational priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution of HR technology initiatives, aligning system enhancements and projects with enterprise priorities.
• Design and deliver HR technology solutions that meet business requirements, improve operational efficiency, and follow best practices.
• Operate within established HR technology governance frameworks, managing intake, prioritization, and release processes.
• Oversee HR system performance, reliability, and issue resolution to meet service level agreements.
• Lead and develop a team of functional analysts and product‑focused professionals.
• Partner with HR Centers of Excellence, IT, Finance, and academic units to create integrated solutions.
• Manage projects including system enhancements, automation, and reporting solutions.
• Support vendor solution delivery and ongoing optimization.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, university policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and assess internal control effectiveness and provide training on controls and policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in HR technology or related areas.
• Proven ability to align departmental goals with enterprise strategy and develop strategic plans.
• Experience in financial and resource management, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
• Demonstrated adaptability and capability to lead transformational change.
• Strong team‑leadership skills with experience managing complex projects.
• Understanding of technology, data analytics, and performance measurement to inform decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders and articulate strategic vision.
