Director, Forward-Deployed AI Engineer – AI Mobilization & Transformation

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a senior AI leader to embed within business units and drive the adoption of production‑grade AI solutions. Reporting to the VP of Organizational Readiness, you will partner directly with leaders to uncover high‑value opportunities, deliver AI assistants and multi‑agent systems, and build internal capability through hands‑on engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Embed within multiple business units to identify workflow, productivity and decision‑making opportunities where AI can generate measurable value.
• Lead end‑to‑end AI transformation engagements, from discovery and solution design to implementation and capability building.
• Develop high‑impact use cases and reusable playbooks that showcase AI’s potential across the enterprise.
• Translate business challenges into practical AI, agent and multi‑agent orchestration applications.
• Create training assets, conduct workshops and establish a train‑the‑trainer model to scale AI expertise.
• Partner with business leaders to demonstrate outcomes, establish local AI champions and prioritize high‑value projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑ready AI solutions in a complex, global organization.
• Strong change‑leadership skills with a track record of embedding technology teams within business functions.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and coach engineers, analysts and product managers.
• Experience with AI assistants, agents and multi‑agent orchestration frameworks.
