About the role

The Director of Donor Engagement – Women’s Philanthropy leads the strategy and execution of programs that attract, retain, and deepen relationships with women donors across the Greater Washington area. This senior position drives campaign growth, donor stewardship, and leadership development within the organization’s fundraising ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of high‑potential women donors.
• Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospects and execute strategic moves‑management plans.
• Design and deliver donor‑centric experiences such as educational programs, leadership initiatives, major events, and immersive travel missions.
• Partner with Women’s Philanthropy volunteer leaders to set vision, goals, and collaborative outreach strategies.
• Supervise one fundraising team member and collaborate across the FRD department.
• Work with senior leaders on legacy‑giving conversations and expand impact among female‑identifying donors.

Required profile

• 5–7+ years of experience in fundraising, donor engagement, sales, or relationship management.
• Proven track record of managing donor portfolios and securing significant gifts.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to use data and metrics to track donor progression.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to inspire volunteers and donors.
