Director, Data Modernization & Digital Solutions

About the role

JSI, a global organization strengthening health and education systems, is hiring a Director, Data Modernization & Digital Solutions in Boston, MA. The role provides strategic and technical leadership to scale JSI's digital footprint in U.S. health and education, acting as a technical architect between business development and project delivery. It reports to the EVP, HSD, works closely with the IT team (including the AI Manager), and may supervise a team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical win themes and data architecture solutions for proposals, partnering with Account Leads and Business Development
• Standardize digital tools and build a documented library of scalable solutions for federal and state clients
• Monitor U.S. digital health and education trends and represent JSI as a thought leader in digital and AI
• Build a strategic partnership approach using a build, buy, borrow framework for federal and state markets
• Lead technical execution of data-scope projects and advise on data standards and infrastructure at project launch
• Set quality standards for digital products and lead cost applications and technology spend decisions
• Act as a senior technical liaison to federal and state agency leads
• Survey division skills, train staff, and direct a multidisciplinary team

Required profile

• Master's degree in Health or Education Informatics, Computer Science, Public Health or a related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years of progressive experience leading data and digital modernization projects in U.S. public health, healthcare or education, including senior project leadership or technical advisory roles
• Track record of winning technical solutions for federal or state solicitations
• Fluent English, domestic travel up to 15-20%, and legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

• Modern data pipelines, cloud infrastructure and data visualization standards (ML, DHTs, EHRs, FHIR-based API integrations)
• Strategic planning, project management and mentoring in a matrixed environment
