Director, Corporate Compliance

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Director of Corporate Compliance to serve as a senior advisor on enterprise compliance, data privacy, and information security. The role will help the organization navigate complex regulatory requirements while supporting business growth and innovation across its global real‑estate platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive corporate compliance program, policies, and training.
• Monitor regulatory developments worldwide and assess their impact on business operations.
• Conduct internal investigations, compliance audits, and recommend remediation actions.
• Advise business units on codes of conduct, anti‑corruption laws (FCPA, UK Bribery Act), conflicts of interest, and whistleblower matters.
• Track and report compliance metrics to senior leadership and the board.
• Support M&A due diligence related to privacy, security, and compliance risk.
• Provide guidance on global privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, state laws, PIPEDA) and manage data‑subject rights requests.
• Oversee privacy impact assessments, data mapping, and privacy incident response.
• Advise on cybersecurity legal obligations, breach notification laws, and sector‑specific requirements (GLBA, HIPAA, NYDFS Part 500).
• Review and negotiate vendor security terms, cyber‑insurance policies, and incident response plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in corporate compliance, data privacy, or information security.
• Strong knowledge of international and U.S. privacy regulations and anti‑corruption statutes.
• Proven ability to lead investigations, audits, and remediation efforts.
• Excellent communication skills to advise senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
