Director, Compute Infrastructure Procurement Operations

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Director of Compute Infrastructure Procurement Operations to build and lead the function that purchases, tracks, and governs its compute infrastructure assets at scale. The role sits within the Finance organization and reports to the Head of Procurement, working closely with Infrastructure Accounting, Finance, Tax, Legal and Data Center Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute supplier strategy for compute hardware, negotiate pricing frameworks and volume commitments.
• Develop sourcing playbooks for hyperscale infrastructure and drive cost savings through vendor consolidation and commercial optimization.
• Operationalize multi‑entity procurement structures, including tax‑optimized entities and international expansion, handling contract transitions, KYC and VAT/GST registration.
• Lead the Asset Lifecycle Management program, owning asset taxonomy, PO data remediation and three‑way match automation at serial‑number granularity.
• Collaborate with legal, tax and finance teams to ensure compliance and alignment of procurement workflows.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and leading large‑scale procurement functions, preferably in compute or data‑center environments.
• Strong understanding of supplier negotiations, cost optimization and category management for multi‑billion‑dollar spend portfolios.
• Experience with multi‑entity procurement, contract novation, vendor onboarding and tax‑efficient structures.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, tax, legal and operations teams.
• Track record of delivering measurable savings and operational efficiencies.
