Director, Commercial Strategy

About the role

Cedar is seeking a Director of Commercial Strategy to shape how the company evaluates, prioritizes, and scales product investments across its portfolio. The role sits within the Commercial Strategy & GTM team and works closely with Product, Finance, Sales, Client Management, Delivery, and Product Marketing to bring analytical rigor to investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain frameworks for assessing product opportunities based on market size, customer need, revenue potential, margin impact, strategic fit, and feasibility.
• Partner with Product to prioritize roadmap trade‑offs, provide commercial implications, and recommend investment actions.
• Build and pressure‑test business cases for new products, extensions, and strategic initiatives, including financial and operating models.
• Collaborate with Finance on assumptions, reporting, and product‑level performance metrics.
• Support pricing, packaging, and monetization analyses in partnership with Commercial, Finance, Product, and Sales teams.
• Prepare executive‑ready investment memos, portfolio reviews, and board‑facing materials.

Required profile

• Proven experience turning ambiguous situations into clear, data‑driven recommendations.
• Strong ability to build executive‑level business cases and influence senior leadership.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills with Product, Finance, Sales, and Commercial teams.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on commercial outcomes and product economics.
