Director, Colonias Program

About the role
We are looking for a visionary leader to direct the Colonias Program, advancing quality of life for residents of Colonias and other underserved border communities. The role combines strategic planning, partnership development, and community engagement to create measurable impact.
Key responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary initiatives that address social, educational, health, and economic challenges in Colonias.
- Build and maintain relationships with academic, governmental, nonprofit, and community partners.
- Secure resources and funding through grant development and partnership agreements.
- Oversee program design, implementation, and evaluation to ensure evidence‑based outcomes.
- Mentor students and staff, fostering experiential learning aligned with community goals.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s or advanced degree preferred).
- At least ten years of administration and management experience, including five years in quality‑of‑life program development.
- Extensive experience with public‑interest advocacy, community‑based program leadership, and health‑justice alliances.
- Demonstrated ability to work weekends, holidays, or extended hours as needed.
Required skills
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
