Director, Agentic AI Architect & Designer

About the role

Mastercard’s Services team is expanding its Operational Intelligence AI platform with autonomous, agentic systems. As Director, Agentic AI Architect & Designer you will lead the technical design and delivery of enterprise‑grade, multi‑agent AI solutions that automate critical operational workflows across a global customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop multi‑agent large language model (LLM) systems using frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, AgentCore, Strands and the OpenAI Agent SDK.
• Design stateful, deterministic, fault‑tolerant agent workflows with guardrails, routing, and recovery logic for use cases like classification, routing, reconciliation, anomaly detection and reasoning.
• Implement diverse memory strategies (short‑term, long‑term, vector, semantic, episodic, graph‑based) and build Graph Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using knowledge graphs.
• Create Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and tools to securely expose governed data and actions to agents.
• Define structured reasoning paths, execution graphs and evaluation frameworks to measure accuracy, grounding, latency and model drift.
• Collaborate with product, platform and domain teams to translate complex operational requirements into production‑ready AI solutions.
• Initially act as a hands‑on individual contributor with end‑to‑end ownership, later evolving to lead a team of AI engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering large‑scale, enterprise AI platforms with autonomous agents.
• Strong background in LLM technologies and agentic frameworks.
• Ability to work hands‑on while shaping technical strategy and eventually managing a team.
