Director, Advance Purchasing Programs

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a senior leader to own the global Advance Purchasing Programs (APP). You will shape policies, drive best‑practice implementation and partner with engineering, manufacturing and quality to achieve cost‑reduction targets. The role reports to senior operations leadership and influences cross‑functional decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation and operation of APP worldwide, ensuring adherence to best‑practice policies.
• Develop, implement and manage systems and processes for inventory forecasting, purchasing and material control.
• Track Materials Management metrics, perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Define operating guidelines, policies and procedures for inventory and warehousing, and monitor inventory accuracy across all locations.
• Represent the materials organization on corporate task‑force teams and manage the department budget.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to meet cost‑reduction targets.

Required profile

• Broad understanding of supply‑chain systems, theories and practices.
• Strong business acumen with ability to drive financial and operational performance.
• Leadership experience managing managers and executing segment/functional strategies.
• Advanced problem‑solving skills for complex business issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to negotiate and influence senior executives.
