Dining Services Coordinator - Dishroom

About the role

The Dining Services Coordinator – Dishroom leads the operation of three high‑volume dish and ware‑washing stations in the South Campus Dining Hall. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure equipment reliability, sanitation, safety, and efficient workflow for up to 25 staff per shift.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation, set‑up, breakdown, and basic repair of commercial ware‑washing equipment.
• Schedule, train, evaluate, and coordinate the work of up to 25 dishroom employees.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards in a high‑volume dining environment.
• Manage chemical usage for dish and pot cleaning, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Obtain and maintain Prince George’s County Food Service Manager and Crowd Management certifications within 90 days of hire.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum four years experience in commercial or institutional food preparation or food service.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency closures.
• Physical ability to lift 40 lb regularly (up to 75 lb occasionally) and stand for long periods.
• Strong communication skills and ability to solve problems with a diverse team.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of commercial ware‑washing equipment.
• Experience with flight‑type dish machines and related chemical safety.
• Basic equipment repair and sanitation procedures.
• Food Service Manager certification (or ability to obtain).
• Crowd Management certification (or ability to obtain).
