Digital Tools Application Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Digital Tools Application Engineer to join its Wafer Result Analytical (WRA) application team in Phoenix. The role combines deep technical expertise with customer‑facing activities to maximize the value of the WRA platform for semiconductor manufacturers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify customer high‑value problems (HVPs), propose and implement end‑to‑end solutions using the WRA platform.
• Manage customer feedback loops to continuously improve platform performance.
• Lead on‑site activities such as beta testing, software upgrades, and server installations, ensuring scope and timeline compliance.
• Conduct technical review meetings and training sessions to align customers with platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with development, product line, and support teams to drive successful adoption.
• Oversee small project management tasks, from planning through delivery.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Engineering.
• 2–10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in metrology or defect review.
• Strong customer orientation and intercultural communication skills.
• Proven problem‑solving and project‑management abilities.

Required skills

• ProVision (metrology/defect review tool).
• SEMVision (defect review software).
• Data analytics.
