Digital Tech & Human Rights Internship (New York)

About the role

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is seeking a motivated intern to join its Digital Tech and Human Rights Section in New York. The intern will support the Section’s work to protect and promote human rights in the digital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on thematic and regional issues at the intersection of digital technology and human rights.
• Draft and summarize reports, background notes, and other relevant documents.
• Prepare documentation for meetings, seminars, and workshops, including drafting notes and post‑event reports.
• Assist with logistical and administrative tasks as requested by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or current enrollee in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme, preferably in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or a related field.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French or another UN language is desirable.
• Strong interest in human rights and digital technology issues.
