Digital Signal Processing Ultrasound Engineer – Medical Device

About the role

You will be at the forefront of designing and developing the next generation of Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) products that help save lives worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Apply acoustic wave propagation and signal processing theory to design and specify new imaging algorithms and sub‑systems.
• Lead development and implementation of new ultrasound imaging capabilities, including development plans, algorithm design, integration strategy, and software implementation.
• Participate in the design, development, and integration of new ultrasound systems and transducers.
• Tune IVUS systems for optimal image quality across a range of transducers and features, and work closely with customers to translate marketing and customer requirements into engineering specifications.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in medical imaging research or product development, primarily in ultrasound imaging systems.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field (PhD preferred).
• Expertise in MATLAB.
• Proven ability to plan, lead, and execute laboratory research and experimentation.
• U.S. work authorization and residence within commuting distance of San Diego, CA.
