Digital Community Liaison (Dari and Pashto)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee seeks a Digital Community Liaison to support newcomers in the United States through the Settle In program’s multilingual Facebook page. You will interact with users in Dari and Pashto, helping them navigate resources, answer questions, and provide empathetic support.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Settle In Facebook page by replying to messages and comments in Dari, Pashto, Spanish, Haitian‑Creole, and English.
• Translate articles, video scripts, and social media posts into Dari and Pashto.
• Record live‑event audio and video scripts in Dari and Pashto.
• Maintain and expand a multilingual FAQ document.
• Propose new content topics based on user interactions and share cultural insights with the team.
• Assist with monitoring and evaluation data collection for Settle In initiatives.

Required profile

• 4‑year college degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year of relevant professional experience.
• Fluent in English, Dari, and Pashto (written and spoken).
• High emotional intelligence and ability to empathize with users in difficult life situations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating system.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience using Facebook for community engagement.
