Diesel Technician

About the role

Ryder is seeking an experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to join its Tyler, Texas facility. You will work on heavy‑duty vehicles, performing maintenance and repairs while enjoying a supportive, safety‑first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake service, and tire work.
• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engine issues on heavy‑duty trucks.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Utilize company tools and equipment to complete repairs efficiently.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification preferred.
• At least two years of combined classroom training and hands‑on experience with diesel engine repair.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (or ability to obtain within six months).
• Ability to pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check.

Required skills

• ASE certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Mechanical repair of automotive diesel engines.
• Preventative maintenance procedures.
• Use of basic hand and power tools.
