Diesel Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for its New Orleans Service Center. The position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, with various shifts and offers up to $37.60 per hour, one week of vacation after 90 days, and access to employee resorts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and occasionally forklifts.
• Maintain related equipment such: overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.
• Use Cetaris system to create and track work orders.

Required profile

• 2 + years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Class A CDL holder and ability to operate Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and possess personal tools.

Required skills

• Preventive maintenance on diesel engines.
• Major mechanical repairs, including AC and electrical systems.
• Experience with Cummins and Detroit engine platforms.
• Proficiency with Cetaris work‑order software.
• Basic welding techniques.
