Diesel Mechanic – 2nd Shift

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for its Alexandria, IN Service Center on the 2nd shift (5:00 pm – 3:30 am), Monday through Friday. This full‑time position offers a competitive hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and occasionally forklifts.
• Maintain related equipment such as overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.
• Use the Cetaris system to manage work orders and track maintenance activities.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably with preventive maintenance on Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Experience with air‑conditioning and electrical systems.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and possess personal tools.
• Familiarity with trailer preventative maintenance and repairs.
