Diesel Mechanic – 2nd Shift

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a full‑time Diesel Mechanic for the 2nd shift (2 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.) at its New Carlisle, IN service center. The role offers up to $40.48 per hour, PTO after 90 days, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and occasional forklifts.
• Maintain trailer components such as overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, air‑conditioning, and electrical systems.
• Use Cetaris software to manage work orders and track maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and possess personal tools.
• Class A CDL and experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of AC, electrical, and welding tasks.
