Diesel Mechanic – 2nd Shift

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join its Maybrook, NY Service Center on the 2nd shift (2:00 pm – 12:30 am). You will perform day‑to‑day maintenance and repairs on a fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment, ensuring reliable operation for our transportation network.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs on diesel engines, including Cummins and Detroit models.
• Service air‑conditioning, electrical systems, lift gates, overhead doors, and other trailer components.
• Perform welding, dollies maintenance, and forklift upkeep as needed.
• Utilize Cetaris software to create, track, and close work orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to all safety protocols.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably with Class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lb and possess personal tools.
• Valid Class A CDL and experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Immediate availability of paid time off upon hire.
