DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer II (Remote, US)

About the role

Openly is rebuilding insurance with a modern technology platform. As a DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer II you will help design, build, and operate the infrastructure that powers our insurance products and customer experiences, working fully remotely across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Build internal tooling that enables engineers and other teams to understand and operate the system.
• Design and implement security best practices for infrastructure and services.
• Automate repetitive work, including the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop infrastructure as code using declarative provisioning tools.
• Create high‑signal monitoring and alerting to meet service‑level objectives.
• Lead incident response, conduct post‑mortems, and drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to architectural decisions such as microservices vs. monolith, deployment techniques, and technology choices.

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for automation.
