DevOps Engineer – Windows/Linux, VMware, Cloud

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to manage a diverse infrastructure environment that spans Windows, Linux, VMware, networking, and cloud platforms. This hands‑on individual contributor will report directly to senior IT leadership and work closely with the CTO, Engineering, and Data teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve physical and virtual servers at headquarters and the DR site in Hawthorne, NY.
• Provision, configure, and manage AWS EC2 instances for analytical workloads.
• Administer Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure AD, and MFA solutions (≈70% of time).
• Build and support enterprise Linux environments, primarily Rocky Linux (≈30% of time).
• Manage VMware vSphere, HCI clusters, and ESXi hosts, including new cluster builds.
• Configure networking components: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet).
• Oversee email security, spam filtering, malware protection, and DLP.
• Perform server hardware tasks: racking, cabling, diagnostics, and component replacement.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Ensure endpoint security, EDR tools, and compliance with regulated financial‑services standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years managing enterprise‑level IT infrastructure.
• Experience in financial services, hedge funds, or similarly regulated environments is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on, ownership‑focused attitude with a desire for long‑term growth.
